Rock Candy

Filed under: Uncategorized — by serendipper @ 10:06 pm

(Edit: All sold!) A client wanted a multicolor necklace, so I strung these magnesite beads that remind me of prehistoric rock candy. From Magpie Gemstones.

This set is wire wrapped with copper and paired with copper beads.

For a more Southwestern look, I strung pink and turquoise beads with pewter washers.

And finally, I created a bracelet to match.

Giving Birth

I began this necklace while waiting in the hospital while my mother had surgery last year. I’ve worked on it off and on, and for the last few weeks I’ve been carrying it with me to work. A few times during lunch I’ve been able to sit in my car and add a few beads. Tonight I finally finished! So here, 9 months later, is my Botswana agate, sardonyx, and copper chain baby. What should I name her?

Amethyst & Sterling

I branched out finally, and wrapped this amethyst with the sterling wire I’ve had for so many years I can’t remember when I bought it.

These two photos demonstrate the importance of your background when taking your photos. The silver paper washes out the amethyst, but the bronze paper gives it warmth and life. Both photos need some color correction to accurately reflect the color of the amethyst.
